About makhana
What is makhana?
Makhana, also called fox nuts or lotus seeds, are the popped seeds of the Euryale ferox plant that grows in wetland ponds. They are light, crunchy and a traditional Indian snack.
How should I store makhana?
Keep the pack sealed in a cool, dry place. After opening, move makhana to an airtight container to keep it crunchy.
How do I roast raw makhana at home?
Dry-roast on a low flame for 6–8 minutes, stirring often, until crisp. Add a teaspoon of ghee and your favourite spices for the last minute.
